BRASILIA (Dow Jones) - Brazil announced a net inflow of foreign exchange of 596 million U.S. dollars in the April 1-24 period, from $ 490 million U.S. dollars of net inflows during the same period, to in 2008, the central bank said today. Total net trade flows in early April 1390 million U.S. dollars, and investment in the country registered a net outflow of 790 million U.S. dollars, the World Bank said. The central bank said that net trade flows is based on the results of 8.31 billion U.S. dollars of export income and 6.92 billion U.S. dollars overseas to pay for imports. Total investment inflows during the 16.46 billion U.S. dollars, while the total outflow of 17.25 billion U.S. dollars. Figures in early April so that the foreign exchange inflows so far this year caused a net outflow of 2.38 billion U.S. dollars, compared with 13.84 billion U.S. dollars in inflows, over the previous year the same period. Brazil announced a net outflow of foreign exchange 983 million U.S. dollars in 2008, compared with 87.45 billion U.S. dollars of net inflows during the period reported in 2007. The annual net outflow of foreign exchange in 2008 published for the first time in the country since 2002.
